Mick & I have been having lots of fun taking Bovver Boi down to the the beach at The Spit at Southport about 5 days a week. Usually in the afternoon around 5pm. It is just lovely.
There is about a 2km stretch of beautiful beach that is a 'dog off the leash' area.
There is also a flagged area for swimming on most days.
It is a really great place to take your family and dog. Bovver just loves playing in the surf & playing with all the other dogs. On any given day you will see almost every conceivable breed of dog playing together.
It is also good exercise for Mick & I, as it takes about an hour to walk from one end of the beach to the other and back. Mind you it doesn't feel like exercise.
Occasionally Mick will do some fishing off the rock wall along The Spit while I walk Bov.
Even pouring rain does not stop us.
Harvey The Evil Pookah prefers to stay at home and do his meditation.
