I woke up early on the Saturday morning and proceeded to faff around. Mick keeps saying to me "Hurry up and get ready.""Are you getting ready yet?". Finally he in frustration he says "Look. You'd better get dressed if we are going to go and buy you an engagement ring today!"
I replied "Don't mess with my emotions!". Well you've never seen a gal get dressed so fast.
First stop was the Vintage Jewellary Fair. Fantastic if Ken Done earings & chunky gold charm bracelets are your thing.
Next stop was one of my favourite places in Brisbane. The Paddington Antique Centre.

It was hard to stay focused as there was so many fantastic things to see and heaps of stuff we would have loved to have bought.
A fabulous Art Deco whiskey decanter & glass set for example.
We almost considered Mick buying me an original bakerlite phone instead of a ring and telling people that we are always 'engaged'.
ha ha.
In the end there was lots of nice jewellary but nothing that stood out. We popped up the road to another lovely store called "Adornments" which specialises in vintage accessories. Lots of pretty stuff but again nothing that really caught my eye.
Finally we drive to "Southside Antique Centre" at Annerley.
Another gorgeous store with lovely staff. We told the lady that we were looking for something either marcasite or black onyx. And then there it was in the 'marcasite' display cabinet.
AND a perfect fit. The lady was so happy for us as Mick put the ring on my finger.! 
I am so grateful and happy that I am going to be the future Mrs Martin and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with The Big Fella.
